Q:I have a jam/misfeed, how can I clear it?
 
Answer:

Refer to the card on the inside front cover of the copier. Generally, any knob that is blue is meant to be turned to remove any jammed paper.

 
Q:I’m turning the blue knobs and the paper won’t come out, now what do I do?
 
Answer:

If the paper won’t come out on its own, you can attempt to pull on the paper in the feed direction. Do NOT use any tools, scissors, etc. to grab the paper; you may inadvertently cause damage to the machine. Instead, place a service call. Also, if the paper starts to tear, stop and also place a service call.

 
Q: I cleared the jam/misfeed but the jam comes right back, what is happening?
 
Answer:

The machine is set up to continue your copy job once a misfeed is cleared. To cancel the job, press the red CLEAR/STOP key and follow the prompts on the screen.

 
Q:Ok, I stopped my copy job, now what?
 
Answer:

Try to make a single copy using each paper tray separately by selecting it from the screen. You may find that the misfeed only occurs from a single paper tray. In that case, check to make sure that the paper tray is set to the correct paper size and direction of the paper actually loaded in the tray. The machine will read a misfeed when the size and direction don’t match the paper setting.

 
Q:The paper seems to jam no matter which tray I select, what should I do now?
 
Answer:

Place a service call, there is probably a small piece of paper torn off caught in the paper path blocking any copy, or a sensor malfunction, or a broken/worn part causing the problem.

 
Q:How many and which supplies should I keep on hand?
 
Answer:

For black and white copiers, you should have at least 2 toners and 1 developer on site. The developer is installed by a technician. Lower volume machines may have a PCU (Photo Conductor Unit), that is the drum and developer all in one. You don’t necessarily need to keep one of those on hand as they are not changed very often, but keep in mind that it may take a few days to send one to you.
For color copiers and printers, you should always have at least 2 of each color toner on hand – black, yellow, cyan, and magenta. It is not necessary to keep drums or developer units on hand.

 
Q:Can I buy toner at any place that sells office supplies?
 
Answer:

No, supplies for your machine are only sold by authorized dealers.

 
Q:Do your technicians carry supplies with them?
 
Answer:

No, there are simply too many types to carry plus the heat that builds up inside a car would damage the supplies over time.

 
Q:My unit still says add toner even after I put a new toner in, what do I do?
 
Answer:

Look at the old toner bottle to see if the stopper is present, if not, it is still in the toner hopper area. Pull the new bottle out and then remove the old stopper if it is there and install the new toner. It should then load toner properly.

 
Q:My office is moving, can my machine be moved by our movers?
 
Answer:

If your company owns the copier – yes, otherwise - no. Typical moving companies do not have sufficient insurance coverage to cover your copier in case it becomes damaged during the move. If this happens, leasing company will hold you liable. Instead, call us to schedule the move. We have necessary insurance coverage and will assume full responsibility for your equipment during the move. Please call us at least 3 business days in advance to schedule the move and get a quote for the price.
